With many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this page, here is an informal glimpse of our many performances over the years. Please contact our secretary if you have any photos, especially from our earlier days, that you would be happy for us to use.
July 2025, Bands In The Park, Northampton
AWB’s most favourite gig of the year, the bandstand on Abington Park. The sun was glorious, the ice creams were flowing and the crowds enjoyed 3 hours of fabulous music performed by the band. Due to the soaring temperatures we donned our most colourful and cool attire instead of our usual black and white.

Remembrance Day 2023, All Saints Church, Northampton
Due to heavy rain at the start of proceedings, it was decided that only our brass section would be able to play. They did an amazing job, playing from sight pieces that Chris was expertly able to print from his laptop. Well done to everyone involved.

We again this year had great fun playing a Christmas Concert outdoors, so that residents could listen safely.
November 2021, Northampton Remembrance Day
We were honoured to be invited to take part in the annual Remembrance Day Event in Northampton. We played outside, by the Edward Lutyens war memorials on Wood Hill, whilst wreaths of poppies were laid. This was the first time participating for our band.

September 2021, Brixworth Church Fete
How lovely it was to be back playing outside the Anglo Saxon church at Brixworth during their fete. We were very pleased to be invited back after a gap of a few years and hope to be able to play there again.

August 2021, Blakesley Show
It is very unusual for the band to play together during August, but we agreed to play for this event for 2020, which was unfortunately postponed. We were very pleased to have been included in the re-scheduled plans for 2021. The rain almost held off and we all had a great time. Many thanks to the guests who helped fill in a few gaps in the woodwind section.

July 2021, Abington Park, Northampton, near the bandstand.
Social distancing requirements meant that we had to abandon the actual bandstand this year. The bandstand itself is very special to our band. Our band was formed by Dr Richard Coles and we first rehearsed in his house, overlooking the park. The bandstand was out of use for many years until a campaign spearheaded by Councillor John Gardner, a founding member of our band, got it renovated and back in regular use.
